Executive Master in Strategic Finance and Business Leadership

Course Information

Introduction

Lean methods remove non-value work and stabilise processes. This five-day course teaches core Lean concepts with practical exercises. You will learn how to map flow, control inventory, reduce defects, and speed up delivery. The emphasis is on tools and routines you can apply immediately to cut lead time, lower costs, and improve quality. The course is designed for teams facing margin pressure, supply variability, or growth constraints.

Objectives

1. Map a value stream, calculate takt time, and quantify the top sources of waste.
2. Apply 5S, standardized work, and visual controls to reduce variability and improve flow.
3. Design and implement simple pull systems (Kanban) to balance production and control inventory.
4. Lead root-cause problem solving using PDCA and A3 methods to reduce defects and recurring issues.
5. Create a practical implementation plan with pilot metrics, roles, and short-term targets.

Who Should Attend?

Operations managers responsible for daily performance and targets.
Production or plant supervisors managing frontline teams.
Continuous improvement / Lean practitioners and team leaders.
Process, industrial, or manufacturing engineers involved in line design and takt.
Supply chain or inventory planners responsible for replenishment and lead times.

Training Method

• Pre-assessment
• Live group instruction
• Use of real-world examples, case studies and exercises
• Interactive participation and discussion
• Power point presentation, LCD and flip chart
