Introduction

Successful events depend on reliable suppliers who deliver products and services on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Effective vendor management ensures clear expectations, strong communication, contract compliance, and coordinated delivery throughout the event lifecycle while reducing operational risks and service disruptions.

This five-day course provides practical skills for selecting, contracting, coordinating, and evaluating event vendors. Participants will learn how to define service requirements, negotiate agreements, monitor supplier performance, manage operational issues, and build long-term supplier relationships through practical exercises and real event scenarios.

Objectives

1. Develop vendor management plans that define procurement requirements, supplier responsibilities, service levels, and delivery schedules.
2. Evaluate, select, and negotiate with vendors using structured assessment criteria, technical specifications, and commercial considerations.
3. Monitor vendor performance throughout the event lifecycle and resolve operational issues to maintain service quality.
4. Manage contracts, communications, payments, and compliance requirements to ensure successful supplier delivery.
5. Conduct post-event vendor evaluations and implement continuous improvement practices to strengthen future supplier partnerships.
